Vishal Sikka has undertaken the biggest restructuring in Infosys since he took over as the company’s CEO in August last year. He has reorganized the company’s delivery function and has reshuffled the responsibilities of a number of top executives. Michael Reh, a former colleague of Sikka’s at SAP and who now heads Infosys’ banking product Finacle, has replaced Sanjay Purohit as the head of its products & platforms subsidiary Edgeverve Systems.

Reh will continue to look after Finacle. Company sources said they would soon appoint a CEO for Edgeverve, who will report to Reh. Edgeverve is modelled like a software startup.
The change appears to have been driven by the rather lacklustre performance of Edgeverve. The contribution of the products & platforms business to overall revenues has barely increased over the past several years. Reh, with his background in SAP, a products company, is seen as a better bet.
