Vivo is all geared up to launch its V5 Plus smartphone in India on January 23. The smartphone has already been officially announced earlier this week. The selfie-focused V5 Plus is now available for pre-order at various retail stores in the country, according to Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom. Vivo V5 Plus comes in Gold colour and can be pre-ordered for Rs 27,980. The manufacturer is also offering a complimentary VR box for all pre-bookings. The primary highlight of the Vivo V5 Plus is its 20MP front-facing camera with Sony IMX376 sensor and f/2.0 aperture, along with an 8MP secondary front-facing camera for creating images with depth-of-field.
The V5 Plus runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, skinned with the company’s Funtouch OS skin layer. Along with the skin-based tweaks and enhancements, the smartphone comes with some pre-installed apps such as Facebook, WhatsApp and WPS Office.
In terms of specifications, the V5 Plus features a 5.5-inch HD display of 720×1280 pixel resolution. It’s powered by a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. There’s also 32GB of internal storage, further expandable via microSD cards of up to 128GB in size.
Vivo V5 Plus houses a 3,160mAh battery and supports 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth as major connectivity options.
The company recently launched its Xplay6 smartphone in China, along with the X9 and the X9 Plus. Priced at 4,498 Yuan, the Xplay6 is available in Gold and Rose Gold colour variants.
Talking about specifications, Vivo Xplay6 comes with a 5.4-inch Quad HD display of 1440×2560 pixel resolution. It flaunts a metal unibody design and is equipped with a fingerprint sensor. The handset packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM. There’s also 128GB of internal storage, although there’s no microSD card expansion.
The dual-SIM Vivo Xplay6 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Funtouch OS skin layer. It features a dual-camera setup at the back, comprised of a 12MP module and a 5MP module, along with dual-tone LED flash, 4-axis OIS and Phase Detection Auto Focus. There is also a 16MP front camera for clicking selfies.
