WatchGuard Technologies announced an enhanced content security solution which allows enterprise customers and messaging service providers to securely transmit and receive up to 30 percent more email messages than previous generations. The increased performance of the WatchGuard XCS 1180, which is part of the company’s Extensible Content Security solutions platform, is critical to helping large organizations defend against email attacks such as spear phishing, for which email is the top point of entry.
“As corporate email addresses become more visible through social networking and blogs, and email traffic continues to increase, a powerful content security solution is more mission-critical than ever for today’s enterprises,” said Roger Klorese, director of product management at WatchGuard. “The XCS 1180 provides enterprise and service provider customers with greater throughput at the same price as previous generations, allowing businesses to quickly process a greater density of messages without increasing IT spending.”
The XCS 1180 is now available for purchase and trade-up, and includes WatchGuard’s LiveSecurity PLUS customer support and customizable reporting features to help IT with audit requests and compliance requirements. The XCS 1180 joins other WatchGuard XCS physical appliances and WatchGuard XCSv virtual appliances in delivering not only powerful protection against email-delivered threats, but web-based attacks as well, while protecting valuable assets with data loss prevention.
