After multiple flip-flops, WhatsApp has finally released the voice-calling feature for all Android users. You will need to download version 2.11.528 from the Play Store or version 2.11.531 from the WhatsApp website.
According to reports by Android Police, as soon as you receive a call on WhatsApp from another user, the feature will be activated on your phone too. After you get the call, close the app and then reopen it. Then you will get to see three tabs – Calls, Chats and Contacts. The call tab will show incoming, outgoing and missed calls.
Now the WhatsApp invite-window is being kept open for a longer duration while the window was open for just a couple of hours, few weeks ago. The voice-calling feature is being tested for quite some time now. Last week a report said WhatsApp’s voice calling feature is actually a malware.
When users clicked on the activation link, they were taken to another website and were asked to survey the messaging service. Then people were forced to download applications and software which were suspected to be carrying the threatening malware.
