The Meta-owned messaging app WhatsApp is introducing two shortcuts to expedite the process of locking chats directly from the chat list.
This update is part of the WhatsApp beta for iOS version 23.24.10.78, available on the TestFlight app. Users can access a new shortcut that enables them to swiftly lock chats from the chat list itself.
The report notes that these shortcuts will streamline the chat locking process, offering users a more intuitive method to secure their conversations.
Previously, users had to navigate a separate section within chat info to activate chat locks, but with the latest update, a dedicated toggle within the chat info screen simplifies the process.
This enhancement aims to make privacy features more user-friendly and reflects WhatsApp’s commitment to improving user privacy. The introduction of shortcuts is expected to be advantageous for users, especially those who may not have been aware of the chat locking feature previously.
The rollout of these shortcuts will be gradual, with beta testers being the first to access them through the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS.
