WhatsApp to introduce screen sharing on video calls

WhatsApp, owned by Meta, announced the release of a screen-sharing feature for video calls, as reported by WaBetaInfo.

The feature is currently available to some beta testers and will be gradually rolled out to a wider audience in the coming weeks.

Users will be able to share their screen during video calls, facilitating collaboration, demonstrations, and remote troubleshooting.

A new icon will appear at the bottom of the screen for users with this feature, allowing them to share their screen content with everyone on the call. The shared screen will display notifications and can be recorded and shared with other participants.

To avoid unexpected notifications, it is recommended to enable the “Do Not Disturb” mode or a preferred focus mode. Users have full control over this feature and can stop sharing their screen at any time. This feature is currently available for users who install the latest beta version on iOS.
