Home appliance maker Whirlpool has announced that it has received 2015 Energy Star Partner of the Year award from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The company received the award for its contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing energy-efficient products and educating consumers about energy efficiency.
Whirlpool’s dedication to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing energy-efficient products and to educating consumers about energy efficiency earned them the recognition from the EPA and for their outstanding contribution they will be recognized in Washington D.C. on April 20th with the honor.
Whirlpool received Energy Star awards an industry-leading 25 times over the years and now the home appliance giant in the world has been selected by the US Environmental Protection Agency as a 2105 Energy Star Partner of the Year.
Whirlpool Corporation is being honored for its leadership in manufacturing products that earn the ENERGY STAR, the government-backed symbol of enhanced energy efficiency, particularly the company’s efforts to promote meaningful energy innovation and product leadership in the laundry category.
In 2014, Whirlpool launched the first ever ENERGY STAR certified model in one of the last frontiers for energy efficiency left in homes—clothes dryers. Whirlpool also has won the ENERGY STAR Emerging Technology Award for the most efficient clothes dryer ever to be introduced into the US market, with the ventless Whirlpool brand HybridCare heat pump clothes dryer.
In 1970, Whirlpool established its own Office of Environmental Control to develop more efficient products for consumers, develop more efficient manufacturing practices, and work with outside stakeholders on environmental and social responsibility.
