Xiaomi facing processor and Ceramic body supply issue for the Mi 6

Looks like Xiaomi is facing a difficult time living up to its Mi 6 smartphone demands. The Chinese technology company is reportedly facing shortage in supply of Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and Ceramic body, which is used in the smartphone’s special edition, says My Driver website.
The shortage in supply of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 is understandable given that Samsung has called dibs on the particular chipset and is using the initial stock for its own Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ smartphones. Besides Samsung and Xiaomi, Sony too requires the flagship chipset for its Xperia XZ Premium smartphone.
As for the Ceramic body, it is not yet clear as to when the handset maker will get the stock back for the special edition handset. The company has not yet announced the availability of the Mi 6 in India or anywhere else except for China.
Xiaomi Mi 6 is the company’s first ever smartphone to feature 6GB RAM and no 3.5mm headphone jack. The company last month launched the handset in three variants. The 64GB variant is priced at CNY 2,499, while the 128GB version costs CNY 2,899. The ceramic edition (128GB storage) has a price tag of CNY 2,999.
To recall, the smartphone sports a 5.15-inch Full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. The Mi 6 has a four-sided 3D-glass design, and has a Home button with integrated fingerprint sensor at the front. It’s also splash-resistant.
Running Android 7.0 Nougat operating system topped with MIUI skin, the Xiaomi Mi 6 has numerous software optimizations such as the ability to block apps from starting and freeze background-running apps. There’s also a 3,350mAh battery included in the mix, complete with Quick Charge 4.0 support.
For imaging duties, the Mi 6 has a dual rear camera setup with 12MP lenses (one wide-angle and one telephoto), OIS and 4K video recording capability. There is also an 8MP selfie camera included.
