Xiaomi ‘launches’ Apple Watch clone, the WeLoop Hey 3S

Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi’s crowd funded platform MIJIA has introduced a new wearable, a smartwatch. Dubbed Hey S3 by We Loop, the smartwatch is been widely termed as an Apple Watch clone.
From the looks of it, the watch has taken major design clues from Apple’s Watch Nike+ Edition model. It has a similar case design and even the smartwatch band has an uncanny resemblance. It is priced at $78, which means around Rs 5,100. The smartwatch has so far launched only in China.
The Hey 3S sports a square 1.28-inch touch screen with 176×176 display resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 coating. The device weighs 38 grams and measures 46.2×35.66×11.15mm. Like other smartwatches, the Xiaomi WeLoop Hey 3S too includes feature that track the distance covered by the wearer and their heart rate stats.
As for the connectivity, the Xiaomi WeLoop Hey 3S feature Bluetooth v4.2 along with GPS, Glonass and wireless chagrining tech. There is also an accelerometer, e-compass, gyroscope besides the aforementioned heart rate sensor. The watch will be available in three colour options – Green Youth, Dynamic Black and Bright Red. Talking about the battery, the WeLoop Hey 3S is claimed to run for up to 30 days.
Smart watches are not something new for Xiaomi. The company last year collaborated with Huami to launched the Amazfit at CNY799 in China. The device was unveiled in August.

  • The Amazfit features a 1.34-inch circular display of 300×300 pixel resolution.
  • It is powered by a 1.2GHz processor paired with 512MB of RAM.
  • There’s 4GB of internal storage and a heart rate sensor on the back with continuous tracking functionality.
  • It’s backed by a 200mAh battery, which is claims to offer 5 days of battery backup.
