Xiaomi has expanded its smartphone line-up in India with the launch of the Mi Max Prime. Priced at Rs 19,999, Mi Max Prime will go on sale from October 17.
The Mi Max Prime is an upgraded variant of the Mi Max, which was launched earlier this year. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, and comes with 128GB of internal storage.
As for other specifications, they largely remain the same. It has a 6.44-inch Full HD display of 1080×1920 pixel resolution protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Running Android 6.0.1, the device comes with a 16MP rear camera with phase detection auto focus and dual-LED flash, along with a 5MP selfie shooter. Powered by a large 4,850mAh battery with Quick Charge support, Mi Max Prime offers 4G, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi as major connectivity options.
Xiaomi’s biggest smartphone till date, the Mi Max Prime has a fingerprint sensor and an IR blaster.
Last month, Xiaomi launched its Mi Air Purifier 2 in India. Priced at Rs 9,999, the second-generation air purifier can be controlled via an app and has built in Wi-Fi. The ‘Mi Home’ app can be used to monitor the air quality inside/outside a user’s house in real-time. Enabled with three settings ‘Auto,’ ‘Night’ and ‘Manual,’ the Air Purifier 2 can be managed remotely via the app. The app also includes features like automatic notification for changing the filter and custom settings for functioning of the air purifier.
Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 has a three-layered filter which claims to remove 99.99% of PM 2.5 particles and produces about 10,000 litres of clean air delivery, with a rate of 330m3/h in standard mode and 338m3/h in active mode. The air purifier is equipped with a new air pressurization system that includes an axial fan, brushless DC motor, Francis fan design and conical duct.
