Xiaomi plans to sell 100,000 smartphone via ‘flash sale’ every week from next month in India.
ITVoice News: With the festive season coming up in India, Chinese Smartphone company strategizes to sell off over 100,000 smartphones every week in Indian market. Hugo Barra, the in-charge of Xiaomi’s international operations mentioned that the company in hoping to capitalise on the Diwali shopping season, “For the Diwali month we’re chartering planes from Hong Kong to India to bring in Mi 3 and Redmi phones because it’s too much product,” he said while he was talking to Reuters.
With its lucrative strategy to pull in huge number of buyers, Xiaomi, aka Apple of China, will sell 60,000 units of Redmi 1S and 40,000 units of Mi 3 each week as a part of its usual flash sale idea in October. It can also adopt the break-up of 80,000 units of Redmi 1S and 20,000 units of Mi 3 each week. However the breakup is not yet confirmed, they may consider the availabily of Xiaomi smartphone on the basis of the demand pulled by Indian market.
Xiaomi on every Tuesday, sells off 60,000 handsets (initially 40,000 units) of Redmi 1S in India through its exclusive online retailer Flipkart using its much known concept of ‘flash sale’. Till now, all the units have gone off shelves with just few seconds.
