ITVoice News: Xiaomi Redmi 1S repeats history once again. It went on sale today at 2 p.m. on Flipkart and within seconds the devices vanished. 40,000 Redmi 1S units were up for sale at the retail store and more than 1 lakh people were registered for it.
As Twitter reveals, clicking on the Buy button didn’t come out with any result as the phone was out of stock within a second. But there are some people who are lucky to buy the phone. Some people shared screenshots to prove that they have actually added the device to their cart successfully. Some people also received messages that the phone couldn’t be added to the cart, but Flipkart has reserved one for the buyer. The buyer needs to come back after 15 minutes to complete the order.
Most of the buyers were either annoyed or amused. The new phone from Xiaomi has some attractive features like dual-SIM facilities, Snapdragon 400 chipset, 8 GB flash memory, 1.6 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with Cortex-A7 core, Adreno 305 image processor, 16 GB in-built storage and memory slot expandable to 64 GB. It also sports 11.94-cm (4.7-inch) display and 8MP camera. The phone costs only Rs 5,999.
On the first day of Xiaomi Mi 3 sales on 22 July Flipkart crashed temporarily but the site was prepared for today’s traffic. The traffic can also be controlled now as only registered people can opt for the buy option during these flash sales of Xiaomi devices.
