Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi launched its Redmi 4 smartphone in India in June this year. The smartphone comes with a starting price tag of Rs 6,999 and will go on sale on Amazon today (August 22) at 12pm. The Xaiomi Redmi 4 is the successor of the last year launched Redmi 3 smartphone. Xiaomi Redmi 4 is available in three variants. All three variants have different RAM and internal storage. The smartphone’s variants available in India are — 2GB RAM/16GB storage (Rs 6,999), 3GB RAM/32GB storage (Rs 8,999) and 4GB RAM/64GB storage (Rs 10,999). As part of the sale, the company is offering customers Mi cases for its Redmi 4 at Rs 349. The cases are originally priced at Rs 499. Customers can also buy the Mi Basic headphones at Rs 599 and Mi Air Capsule earphones at Rs 999. Those using Yes Bank’s debit and credit cards for the purchase of the Redmi 4 , will receive Rs 500 cash back as well. The cash back is valid on the purchase of one phone only per card. Furthermore, the Redmi 4 buyers from Amazon will get an exclusive limited period offer from GoIbibo. As a part of the offer users can avail an instant discount of Rs 500 on domestic flight bookings of Rs 4500 or more on GoIbibo and a Hotels voucher worth Rs 2,500 on domestic hotel bookings of Rs 4,000. Besides this, Xiaomi is giving extra internet data to Redmi 4 users as well. Users, who purchase the smartphone with 1GB Vodafone data pack or above, can get 9 GB additional free 4G data for 5 Recharges with maximum validity of 5 months. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 buyers will also be able to download the Kindle app on their device and can get a credit of Rs 200 on Kindle books by signing-in. This offer is available for the first 100,000 customers only. The all new Xiaomi Redmi 4 comes with an all-metal unibody design. The hybrid dual-SIM smartphone comes with curved edges and its rear panel has a circular fingerprint sensor, along with the company logo. There’s also an IR blaster for turning it into a universal remote control. In terms of specifications, Xiaomi Redmi 4 features a 5-inch HD display of 720×1280 pixel resolution. The display has a 2.5D curved glass design. It’s powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system topped with the company’s MIUI 8.2 skin. Xiaomi has announced that the smartphone will get Android N after its beta testing is complete. Talking about the camera, the device sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture, in addition to a 5MP front camera for selfies. Backed by a 4,100mAh battery, the Redmi 4 offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB OTG and GPS as major connectivity options.
