Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi launched its cheapest 4G smartphone in India — Redmi 4A . Priced at Rs 5,999, the smartphone is up for grab via flash sale at 12 pm today (17th Aug) on Amazon India’s website. Launched in India in March this year, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes in Dark Grey and Gold colour options.
The smartphone is the most affordable device in the company’s Redmi range. Xiaomi Redmi 4A is widely expected to get a successor, dubbed Redmi 5A, later this year. The smartphone has been spotted online.
Xiaomi also has some deals and offers for Redmi 4A buyers. These comes in the form of free data and discounts on some of the company’s devices. With Xiaomi Redmi 4, buyers can also purchase Mi cases at Rs 349. The cases are originally priced at Rs 399. Interested customers can also get Mi Basic headphones at Rs 599. Idea Cellular is offering subscribers 28GB of 4G data with the purchase of the Redmi 4A. It is worth noting that users will have to recharge with Rs 343 to get 1GB data per day, which means that the validity of the data is 28 days. In addition, they’ll get up to 300 daily minutes. Buyers of the Redmi 4A can download the Kindle app on their smartphones and sign-in to get Rs 200 in credit for Kindle books. This offer is available for the first 100,000 customers only. For those unaware, Xiaomi Redmi 4A sports a 5-inch HD display of 720×1280 pixel resolution. It’s powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset paired with 2GB of RAM. There’s 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB through microSD cards. The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the company’s MIUI skin layer running on top.
The dual-SIM smartphone comes sans finger-print sensor. For imaging, the Redmi 4A has a 13MP rear camera with phase detection auto focus and LED flash. A 5MP front-facing shooter is also there. Major connectivity options include 4G, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, with a 3,120mAh battery rounding off the spec sheet.
