YouTube Premium subscribers are now enjoying an added benefit as the platform rolls out experimental AI features for testing. With 80 million Premium members and triallers globally, YouTube is offering select users in the US the opportunity to test two AI-powered experimental features. These features are expected to enhance the viewing experience and may become integral aspects of the platform in the future.
Premium subscribers can explore these AI features, with one of them being available for testing in India on both Android and iPhones. Users can check for these features by visiting youtube.com/new. The first AI experiment introduces a conversational AI tool, allowing Premium members to interact by tapping “Ask” beneath select videos. Users can pose questions or choose from suggested prompts, receiving responses that enhance their viewing experience without interrupting playback.
The second feature, also available in India, focuses on AI organizing large comment sections in long-form videos into digestible themes. This allows users to comprehend and engage in comment conversations more effectively. Creators can leverage comment summaries to quickly participate in discussions or find inspiration for new content based on audience discussions. The AI comment organization feature is open for testing until December 5, specifically for English videos. It is important to note that this feature won’t be available on every video, and users can access it on the YouTube Android and iOS apps by opening the comment section and sorting by topics.
YouTube is actively seeking user feedback during this testing phase, aiming to refine and improve these AI features based on user experiences and preferences. These experimental features represent YouTube’s commitment to innovation and enhancing the overall viewing and interaction dynamics on its platform.
