YouTube Music is rolling out Real-Time Lyrics for Android users

Real-time lyrics have been a coveted feature among music lovers for some time, and now it’s finally rolling out to YouTube Music users. While a typical lyrics page displays all the lyrics of a song in one go, real-time lyrics sync up with the song, displaying each line as the artist sings it. This creates a more immersive and engaging experience for listeners, and even makes it easier to host a karaoke night at home.

According to 9to5Google, the feature is not yet available to all YouTube Music users, but is gradually being rolled out. Interestingly, some users had access to the feature since late last year, but only when casting the app to another device. In that case, real-time lyrics appeared alongside album art on the screen.

However, the experience is said to be quite different when activating the feature on an Android device. The new UI provides a clean and sleek design, with lyrics appearing in real-time as the song plays. While the feature may seem small, it can make a big difference in enhancing the overall music experience for users.

If your app supports it, you may navigate to an album of your choosing, choose a song, and then just tap on the Lyrics tab, which ought to be in the centre of the playing UI. You should simply see a wall of text with the source for the lyrics at the bottom if the update hasn’t yet come.

You will see a totally different screen with many lines of words that advance everytime the singer performs the song if the real-time lyrics feature is enabled.

Real-time lyrics are finally coming to YouTube Music, which is fantastic, but most music streaming services have had them for a while.
