Zoom is set to provide a free AI companion to its paid users, enabling them to leverage large language models, including those from OpenAI, to summarize meetings and compose chat messages.
This feature, initially known as Zoom IQ, will be a core offering for paid Zoom users. It allows users to create summaries of meetings and generate AI-driven responses to questions.
The AI companion will also assist with drafting messages and summarizing lengthy chat threads.
Zoom intends to offer this AI assistant throughout its platform, from Meetings to Team Chat, Phone, Email, and Whiteboard, with additional features planned for the future.
The company emphasizes its commitment not to use customer data for training AI models in response to previous controversies over its terms of service.
Zoom’s AI Companion is expected to launch in the fall for paid subscribers.
