New Delhi, April 25, 2013 – ZyXEL Communications, a leading provider of secure broadband networking, Internet access, connected home and routing products, today introduced the ES1100-8HP-240W and GS1100-8HP-240W, a high-performing Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) switch and a Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) switch respectively. The two eight-port devices are high-speed, require no set-up and offer instant connectivity to Wi-Fi Access Points (APs), security cameras, VoIP phones and other devices that need flexible deployments with direct access to power sources in office environments.
Both devices are plug-and-play, requiring no configuration. The eight ports are fast Ethernet on the ES1100-8HP-240W and gigabit on the GS1100-8HP-240W. Each of the eight ports delivers an industry-leading 30 watts of power sufficient to power a variety of the latest PoE+ devices. This is a competitive differentiator as most competing PoE+ switches support PoE+ for only half their ports, requiring businesses to purchase extra equipment and incur additional expense. The new switches from ZyXEL are compliant with IEEE 802.3-Base-T/802.3u100Base-T and IEEE802.3af/802.3 at standards and fully compatible with each standard.
Both the ES1100-8HP-240W and the GS1100-8HP-240W feature auto learning of network configurations, an 8k Mac learning table with 2M bits buffer memory, non-blocking and non-head-of-line blocking full wire speed forwarding, support for Auto MDI-X, Flow Control, and broadcast storm control and store and forward operation.
The ES1100-8HP-240W and the GS1100-8HP-240W are the latest additions to ZyXEL’s extensive line of high performance switches for SMBs which includes 24 and 48 port Web managed gigabit (GS1910 series) and 10G switches (XGS1910 series). Together these switches offer SMB several affordable alternatives for a robust network capable of handling applications like VoIP, video streaming, teleconferencing and video surveillance.
