To address critical switching demands for converged data centre networks, the XS3900-48F ToR Switch offers enhanced management capability of intra-system data trafficking and communication through a Data Centre Bridging (DCB) mechanism with supports to protocols such as Data Centre Bridging Exchange (DCBX), Enhanced Transmission Selection (ETS) and Priority-based Flow Control (PFC).

The switch can identify and communicate with other DCB-enabled network devices through the DCBX protocol, and it also utilizes PFC and ETS to manage pauses and to schedule the priority of different traffics to avoid congestion. This significantly guarantees bandwidth efficiency for critical applications while ensuring unclogged performance and data integrity; these functions are extremely critical for data centre service providers to avoid service interruption or inadequacy.
