Huawei Introduces Pura 70 Series in Malaysia

Huawei has quietly introduced its Pura 70 series in Malaysia following its launch in China. This lineup includes three models: the Pura 70, the Pura 70 Pro, and the premium Pura 70 Ultra, each catering to different needs and preferences.

In terms of configurations, each variant offers a single option for RAM and storage. The entry-level Pura 70 model comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, priced at RM3,699. Moving up, the Pura 70 Pro offers 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage for RM4,899. At the top end, the feature-rich Pura 70 Ultra boasts 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, retailing at RM6,599.

Color choices vary across the models. The Pura 70 is available in Black, White, or Pink, while the Pura 70 Pro comes in Black or White. For those opting for the premium Ultra version, it features a vegan leather back and offers color options of Black, Brown, or Green.

Pre-orders for the Huawei Pura 70 series in Malaysia are open from May 2nd to May 24th, 2024. Customers can secure their units by placing a non-refundable deposit of RM70 either online through Huawei Malaysia’s website or at Huawei Experience Stores. Pre-order customers stand to receive complimentary gifts valued at over RM2,000 and can save over RM500.

The Pura 70 Ultra and Pro models feature a large 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,500 nits. Meanwhile, the standard Pura 70 model sports a slightly smaller 6.6-inch screen. All three variants boast IP68 dust and water resistance ratings.

Under the hood, the Pura 70 series is powered by Huawei’s latest Kirin 9010 chip for the Ultra and Pro models, while the standard Pura 70 utilizes the Kirin 900S1 chip. Operating on EMUI 14.2, these devices come with notable upgrades over their Chinese counterparts.

Battery capacities vary across the models as well. The Pura 70 Ultra packs a robust 5,200mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging, 80W wireless charging, and 20W reverse wireless charging. The Pura 70 Pro houses a slightly smaller 5,050mAh battery with similar charging capabilities. Meanwhile, the base Pura 70 model features a 4,900mAh battery supporting 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.

When it comes to camera systems, each model offers unique setups. The Pura 70 Ultra stands out with a distinctive configuration comprising a large 1-inch 50MP primary camera with a retractable lens, alongside a 50MP telephoto lens with optical image stabilization (OIS) and 3.5x optical zoom, and a 40MP ultra-wide lens with autofocus.

In contrast, the Pura 70 Pro features a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 48MP telephoto lens with OIS and 3.5x optical zoom, and a 12.5MP ultra-wide lens. Lastly, the standard Pura 70 shares the same 50MP main sensor as the Pro but with a different telephoto lens setup – a 12MP periscope lens with OIS and 5x optical zoom – and a 13MP ultra-wide lens.
