According to reports, WhatsApp is currently experimenting with new tools for formatting message text in its beta version

WhatsApp is reportedly testing new text formatting tools, with recent sightings of these tools in the WhatsApp Desktop beta version.

According to insights from WhatsApp development tracker WABetaInfo, the three text formatting tools include a “Code Block” feature, which aims to enhance the legibility of technical codes on the messaging platform. This tool is expected to be especially useful for software developers and programmers who frequently share code snippets. Another tool in development is the “Quote” feature, which would enable users to refer back to specific messages or responses within a conversation. This tool could offer a more streamlined way to quote and reply to specific text segments compared to the current quoting feature on the app. The third tool focuses on allowing users to create lists within messages, enhancing the organization of information shared on the platform.

While screenshots of these new formatting tools have been shared, WhatsApp has not provided an official timeline for their release to all beta testers. As with all features in development, there is a possibility that these tools could be introduced through beta updates before reaching the stable channel. It’s also possible that some features might undergo further refinement or even be dropped altogether during the development process.
In addition to these text formatting tools, WhatsApp has also recently introduced the ability to share high-quality HD photos in chats across Android, iOS, WhatsApp Web, and desktop platforms.
