Acer has launched the Iconia A1-713 tablet in India at Rs. 12,999, a tablet that was first introduced globally in April.
The Acer Iconia A1-713 tablet comes with support for a single SIM card, and offers voice calling as well as 3G connectivity. It runs the now-dated Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box, and sports a 7-inch (1024×600 pixels) display. The firm has however promised to offer an Android 4.4 KitKat update in the future.
The tablet is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT8382) processor with 1GB of RAM. The Iconia A1-713 comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (unspecified storage limit).
It sports a 2-megapixel rear camera, while there is a secondary 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard. On the connectivity front, the Acer Iconia A1-713 includes 3G, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth connectivity. The tablet packs a 3400mAh battery and comes in Silver.
“Over the last year, Internet access has received a huge boost and has changed the dynamics of the Indian tablet market significantly. Popularity of the Android ecosystem, coupled with affordable data tariffs and improved reach of service has driven the demand for tablet PCs in the country. Witnessing the growth in demand for this form factor, we introduced a device that offers the functionality of a laptop and the portability of smartphones – the Acer Iconia A1-713 is an ideal device for customers looking to enjoy mobile entertainment,” stated S. Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer, Acer India, at the launch of the tablet.
Acer introduced the Iconia A1-713 and Iconia A1-713HD tablet in the US back in April. The only difference between the two tablets is that Iconia A1-713HD features a 1280×800 pixel anti-fingerprint IPS display.
In May, the company announced its Iconia Tab 8 tablet ahead of the Computex event. Apart from the Iconia Tab 8, Acer also launched five new smartphones, and a new smartband. These are the Acer Liquid E700, Acer Liquid E600, Acer Liquid Z200, Acer Liquid X1, and Acer Liquid Jade smartphones, and the Liquid Leap smartband.
