Acer Introduces Project DualPlay: A Gaming Laptop with Detachable Controllers

At the next@acer global press event in Berlin, Acer revealed its latest gaming innovation, Project DualPlay. This new Predator concept gaming laptop combines versatility with shared gaming experiences, allowing gamers to enjoy their favorite AAA titles on a dynamic and powerful device.

Project DualPlay redefines mobile gaming by incorporating a vast touchpad that functions as a detachable wireless controller. The controller can be released from its electromagnetic lock with a simple two-finger action, which also activates two 5-watt pop-out speakers, offering immersive sound for an enhanced gaming experience.

For multiplayer enthusiasts, Project DualPlay allows a second player to join in. Whether playing first-person shooters, multiplayer online battles, or fighting games like Street Fighter 6, the detachable controller can split into two joysticks, transforming the laptop into a multiplayer gaming hub. Gamers can easily switch between keyboard and controller modes, adapting to various game styles and genres.

The laptop’s visual appeal is further enhanced with customizable 360-degree RGB lighting around the keyboard, screen bezels, and trackpad, along with an infinity mirror lighting bar at the back. Even the joysticks on the detachable controller feature vibrant lighting effects, adding excitement to the gaming atmosphere.

Project DualPlay marks a bold move for the Predator brand, offering unique and interactive gaming experiences for all types of gamers.
