The breach occurred between January and March of this year, with attackers intermittently accessing the company’s systems. The potentially exposed data includes names, Social Security Numbers, birthdates, bank account numbers, and health plan information. While the breach mainly impacted current and former employees, Forever 21 claimed customer data remained unaffected.

The company has stated that it has taken steps to secure the stolen data and so far, there was no evidence of data sharing among cybercriminals. This incident follows a previous data breach in 2017 affecting payment card data.
