After creating much hype across social media, Chinese smartphone vendor, Xiaomi has finally entered India with its first ever device: the Mi3. The smartphone is now listed on Xiaomi’s official website and will go on sale come 15 July at a price tag of Rs 14,999.
The Xiaomi Mi3 smartphone features a 12.7-cm (5-inch) full-HD LCD display with a 1080×1920 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (8274AB) processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It sports a 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera. It comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage. The device runs a highly customised version of the Android 4.3 dubbed as MIUI version 5. It decks in a 3050mAh battery.
Earlier reports suggested that Xiaomi is in talks to partner with e-commerce giant Flipkart to launch its devices in India. Xiaomi sold 19 million smartphones in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong only, in a one-year span of previous year.
