Airtel, one of India’s leading telecom service providers, experienced a significant nationwide outage disrupting mobile, data, and broadband services for thousands of users. The disruption began around 9:56 AM, with user reports peaking at approximately 10:41 AM, according to Downdetector, a platform that monitors real-time service outages.
The outage affected both mobile data and broadband services, leaving many users unable to make calls, access data, or use the internet.
The impact was widespread, with major cities such as Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Surat, and Bengaluru reporting significant disruptions. Users in Chandigarh, Lucknow, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore, and Madurai also reported issues, though to a lesser extent.
Downdetector’s data indicated that 46% of the affected users experienced a total blackout, 32% reported signal issues, and 22% faced mobile connectivity problems.
Frustrated customers took to social media platforms to express their concerns. One user from Gujarat reported, “Airtel Broadband & Mobile Services All Are Down, No Network on Mobile & Broadband Everything is gone in Gujarat Right Now..!“ Another user highlighted recurring issues, stating, “Please don’t rely on Airtel Xstream Fiber. Every month, their service is down for 2-3 days, yet they still charge for those days.”

This incident underscores the critical importance of reliable connectivity in today’s digital age, where disruptions can have widespread implications on communication, business operations, and daily life. Users experiencing issues are advised to monitor official Airtel channels and customer service platforms for updates and support.
