Amazon Prime Lite launched in India

Amazon India has introduced a new membership plan called Amazon Prime Lite, which provides customers with a more budget-friendly option compared to the regular Prime membership. This new plan offers similar benefits but at a reduced price. Initially available to a select group of users, it has now been made accessible to all customers. The Amazon Prime Lite membership plan is priced at Rs 999 for a 12-month subscription, which is Rs 500 less than the standard Amazon Prime membership priced at Rs 1499. Unlike the regular membership, there are no monthly or quarterly options, only a single plan. Here are the details of what subscribers can expect to receive with the Amazon Prime Lite membership.

Subscribers of Amazon Prime Lite will enjoy the benefit of free two-day delivery and standard delivery. Additionally, they will have the option of No-Rush shipping to eligible addresses, with the added perk of receiving Rs 25 cashback as part of the membership plan. Prime Lite members will also have early access to lightning deals on the Amazon India website, along with access to Prime-exclusive lightning deals, deals of the day, and more. Similar to the regular Prime membership, Prime Lite will provide unlimited access to a wide range of movies and shows.

Prime Lite membership provides unlimited access to Prime Video content; however, it is limited to the Android and iOS apps and supports only HD resolution, unlike the regular membership that offers 4K streaming. Additionally, Prime Video on Lite membership allows streaming on a maximum of 2 devices, whereas the regular membership allows streaming on up to 6 devices.

While Prime Lite offers free two-day delivery, it does not include the benefits of free one-day and same-day deliveries.

Prime Lite membership does not grant access to Prime Reading, which allows users to borrow eBooks, comics, and more from the Prime Reading catalog.

Prime Music, Amazon’s music streaming service, is not included in the Prime Lite membership. This means users will not be able to listen to songs using the Amazon Prime Music app with this plan.
