Motorola has started rolling out its over-the-air updates for its Moto G smartphone here in India for both its single SIM international and dual-SIM India variant. The OTA update is 169MB in size and is an incremental update from Android 4.4.2 KitKat that brings the system version to 210.12.32.
The update for the Moto G brings along three main improvements to the device: new pause video recording feature on the viewfinder, updated phone dialler and access to Motorola Alert. Motorola had earlier this week announced the start of the roll-out of the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update for Moto E, G and X smartphones.
“We are excited to announce some icing on top of the, well, KitKat. Starting today, we are rolling out Android 4.4.3, KitKat, which was just released by Google.” Steve Horowitz, SVP, Software Engineering, Motorola wrote in a blog post. T-Mobile users will receive the update first for the Moto X while users in the US who bought the Moto G online will be the first recipients in this category. Also, Moto G users in Brazil will be the first to get the update. Similarly, Moto E users in the US who bought their devices online will receive the first batch of update. The rest will be receiving their share in the coming weeks, confirmed Motorola. Meanwhile, Moto E will be receiving the next major Android update as well.
