Apple’s longed-for wearable was expected at the company’s upcoming September event, but there is a change in plans now for its shipping.
If you have been planning to buy the Apple iWatch this year only then your plans need a bit modification. Your wait will be little longer. Recode reported on Friday that this much-awaited wearable from Apple won’t be “shipping any time soon.”
The device is likely to hit the stores in early 2015, the report has added. It means Apple is going to miss the festive season and the holiday mood in its sale. It means a enormous time is required between the two launches – iPhone 6 which is expected on 9 September and the wearable device. This is not the first time that Apple has already unveiled some product much before it gets ready to be shipped. In January 2007 the first iPhone was announced but shipping started in June. Again the first iPad was unveiled in January 2010, only to hit the markets in April. Apple has not passed any comment on the issue.
Earlier this week a hype was created by Recode when it reported that at the 9 September event Apple would show off a wearable along with its newest iPhone. On Thursday media invites were also sent by Apple for 9 September event without much details about the same, just saying “Wish we could say more.” Exactly one year after iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S launch, this event is coming up and it will also take place just a week later after Samsung will unveil its Galaxy Note 4 phone-tablet blend. The iPhone 6 is expected to be one of the biggest launches in Apple’s history both in terms of screen sizes and sales figures.
Apple really needs a successful iPhone 6 launch as this phone will generate more than half of the company’s revenue in its smartphone products. Apple consumers are also eagerly waiting for its wearable device so the company needs to show off this product too keeping in line with CEO Tim Cook’s promise that “amazing” and “exciting” new products will be arriving this year. But there is a certain uncertainty about the wearable devices and their market. While some analysts think that the wearables’ market will soar high in the coming year, others are not at all hopeful about the same.
