ITVoice News: At the most awaited 9 September event, Apple launched their iWatch, or rather we should call it Apple Watch. The watch has been launched in two size variants a lot of choices are there for interchangeable, fashionable wrist straps.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said at the event, “Apple Watch is the most personal device we have ever created.” The Apple Watch received the “one more thing” introduction, following the trademark of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. Cook said,”It is the next chapter in Apple’s story. We invented intimate ways to connect and communicate directly from your wrist; it works seamlessly with iPhone and it is also a comprehensive health and fitness device.”
Apple watch has been priced at $349 and it will hit the markets early next year, according to Cook. The smartwatch will be compatible with iPhone 5 models and the newer ones. A Watch has been long awaited from Apple. Apple Watch has touch-screen capabilities and many controls have been designed into a “digital crown” button so fingers do not block screens.
The in-built sensors can detect a wearer’s pulse and the devices tap into motion sensing features in iPhones. These will provide a “comprehensive picture of activity” and it will help towards fitness goals, as per Apple senior VP of design Jonathan Ive. The watch has applications like map software which will guide people towards their destinations just by gentle taps on the wrist.
