Asus Launched Zenphone 6 Smartphone, at Rs.16,999, in India

Taiwanese IT major Asus stepped into the Indian smartphone market by launching a series of affordable smartphones in partnership with Intel on Wednesday.

The company launched three smartphone devices under Zenfone brand, after its Zenbook series of notebook. Zenfone 4 has been announced at Rs 5,999, while Zenfone 5 will set you back by Rs 9,999. The 6 inch Zenfone 6 is priced at Rs. 16,999.

Jerry Shen, Global CEO of Asus along with Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor unveiled the device at Pragati Maidan.

Asus had first unveiled the Zenfone at CES in January this year. Apart from the premium build quality, what caught everyone’s attention was the pricing – $99 for the Zenfone 4, $149 for the Zenfone 5 and $199 for the Zenfone 6.

On Tuesday, another Chinese handset maker Xiaomi launched its first smartphone, Mi 3, in the Indian smartphone market and is priced at Rs 14,999. Touted as the Apple of China, the Mi 3 will be available for pre-booking in India from July 15.
