Realme, a smartphone manufacturer under the BBK Electronics umbrella, has made the decision to exit the German market, following in the footsteps of Oppo, Vivo, and OnePlus.
The move comes as a result of a Nokia patent that has limited the business operations of these brands in Germany.
Realme cited a slowdown in business and ongoing license negotiations with Nokia as the reasons behind its departure.
The company plans to focus on its core markets in other European countries instead. As a result, the latest Realme smartphone models will not be available in Germany, and potential customers will need to purchase them from neighboring countries without warranty or software updates.
Realme aims to redirect its efforts towards markets like Italy, Poland, Spain, and the Balkans, where it has seen growth and success in recent months.
