South Korean Game Publisher, Krafton said “The Indian version of Player Unknown Battlegrounds (PUBG) has crossed 100 million registered users in the country on Friday. The game has completed its one year since its debut on September 2, 2020. Battle grounds Mobile India (BGMI) was launched as an alternative of Player Unknown Battlegrounds (PUBG) mobile when it got banned. The company said that the mobile game is the most popular royale game in India. The company has invested 100 million USD to improve India’s local video game, esports and entertainment start-up to build a healthy gaming start-up ecosystem.

The company is planning to organize more events, tournaments with larger price and more opportunities for aspiring gamers to gain exposure and make their mark on the industry. As the part of long term vision to grow the Esports scene in India the company confirmed that it has plans to launch larger events for BGMI this year.
