Bill Gates marks 28th anniversary of Windows with nostalgic video

Bill Gates commemorated the 28th anniversary of Windows by sharing a throwback video on X (formerly Twitter). In the video, taken at the launch party of Windows 95, Gates can be seen dancing with friends and colleagues.

Gates’ post on X included the video clip from the Windows 95 launch celebration, where he danced alongside others. He captioned the post, “Some memories stick with you forever. Others follow you around the internet for 28 years. Happy birthday, @Windows.” The video gained substantial attention, amassing over 7 million views within just one day.
Windows was initially introduced on November 20, 1985, as a graphical user interface (GUI) for MS-DOS, in response to the growing demand for GUIs. The landmark release of Windows 95 on August 24, 1995, was a significant milestone for Microsoft, as it combined MS-DOS and Windows components. This version quickly gained popularity and was succeeded by Windows 98 three years later.
