It Voice News- Spreading awareness about Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis is now a global affair and with the popular Ice Bucket Challenge the fight against this disease has gone viral now.
The Ice Bucket Challenge has come up once again and the latest celebrities to join the league are Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Apple CEO Tim Cook and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. Since last week tech executives have been accommodating this challenge to spread awareness about a serious neurodegenrative disease – Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). This challenge has already gone viral and people have been posting videos of themselves of accepting the executing the same. As one gets soaked with the cold water, the challenge is forwarded to others and the other person has to either accept the challenge or donate to ALS Foundation, or if anyone is willing he/she can do the both. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg extended the challenge to Bill Gates and Gates passed it on to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, TED Conference’s Chris Anderson and American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest.
Tim Cook was challenged by Apple’s marketing chief Phil Schiller’s challenge and American musician Michael Franti dumped the water on Cook. Then Cook dared Disney CEO Bob Iger, hip hop artist and new Apple recruit Dr Dre and Franti himself. Franti accepted the challenge on the spot and Cook did the honour of pouring a bucket of water on him. Bezos managed some time out of his Amazon meeting to participate and then he dared Star Trek alumnus William Shatner, Patrick Stewart and George Takei. Earlier the trend was set by the likes of Satya Nadella, Schiller and several Hollywood celebrities too.
