boAt Joins ONDC to Widen its Customer Portfolio and Unlock Growth

boAt – One of the leading audio and wearable brands in the country and one of the largest D2C players in the segment, has joined ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce), an initiative of the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. Consumers can now shop boAt’s products in the electronics category available on the network, including headphones, TWS, neckbands, smartwatches, and speakers.

boAt aims to reach a more varied segment of customers through the ONDC. Also, with ONDC being operational in several cities across India, boAt will be able to showcase its products on a wider scale and unlock the next phase of its growth.

ONDC is not an application, platform, intermediary, or software but a set of specifications designed to foster open, unbundled, and interoperable open networks, thereby eliminating the dependency on a single platform. It aims to enable e-commerce for sellers of every scale and size across India by making the operational capabilities required for eCommerce available at scalable costs, stitched together by Network Participants, enabling the network.

boAt’s ingenious, innovative, and indigenous consumer tech products are attractively priced and are targeted at Gen Z and millennials. The omni-channel brand has partnered with global tech companies including Dolby, Qualcomm, CEVA and more to design & manufacture next generation audio & wearables in India for the global market. boAt is committed to nation-building and has manufactured over ~15 million units in India to date by closely working with Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) companies and with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

T. Koshy, MD & CEO, ONDC, said, “ONDC is evolving and expanding the product categories via continuous onboarding of new sellers, enabling customers to benefit from a wider range of products and services. ONDC’s portfolio of electronic products is now even stronger with the inclusion of boAt, reflecting our unwavering commitment towards fortifying digital commerce in India.”

Aman Gupta, Co-founder and CMO at boAt said, “boAt is aligned to ONDC’s core purpose of improving adoption and democratizing e-commerce in India. Being onboarded on ONDC increases availability and access of boAt’s world-class products on all digital platforms adopting the network.”
