6X Longer Lifespan
Solid capacitors last longer than the electrolytic capacitors especially under lower working temperatures. Typical electrolytic capacitors last only 32,000 Hours (3.6 Years) but ECS’s solid capacitors are designed to last up to 200,000 Hours (22 Years) at above normal operating temperatures of 65°C.
Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR)
Typical electrolytic capacitors are less able to handle large ripple currents compared to solid capacitors. These ripple currents generate harmful heat through current leakage and cause capacitors to lose capacitance and electrolyte. Solid capacitors, on the other hand, boast a low ESR that keeps them lasting longer due to reduced current leakage.
Temperature Stability
Solid capacitors are designed to operate consistently at high temperatures of up to 100°C, and perform better at higher frequencies and higher current than general electrolytic capacitors. Solid capacitors have relatively stable capacitance, which can deliver more stable performance and make them less likely to be affected by temperature changes.
