Epson has announced its sustained dominance and growth in the Indian projector market for the eighth consecutive year. According to the latest data from Futuresource Consulting for FY23, Epson sold 77,637 projectors, capturing a market share of 45.03% out of the 172,414 projectors sold in India during the fiscal year 2023-24. This marks a significant increase from its 31.54% market share in FY2022, representing a 13% growth.
Since FY 2016-17, Epson has led the Indian projector market and continues to hold the top global position for 22 years, with a 32.3% market share in FY 2022-23. Epson excels in both B2B and B2C sectors. The company’s success is largely attributed to its proprietary 3LCD technology, which offers vibrant and true-to-life images with up to three times higher color vibrancy and a broader color gamut than competitors.
Epson’s projectors are known for their high-quality performance, innovative features, and advanced technology. Recent models enhance user experience with Laser light sources, Ultra Short Throw capabilities, 3LCD Reflective Laser technology, and 4K resolution for state-of-the-art home theater projectors. Epson plans to continue focusing on cutting-edge technologies to remain the preferred projector brand in India and worldwide.
Key segments for Epson projectors include education, corporate, government, and home use, each presenting significant growth opportunities. Their projectors are widely used in corporate meeting rooms, classrooms, large venues, theaters, and home theaters. The demand is driven by digital classrooms, hybrid meeting rooms, training rooms, projection mapping, digital art galleries, rental and staging, and home entertainment.
The shift towards Laser light source projectors, which offer up to 30,000 hours of life, is supporting greener and more cost-efficient workplaces. In education, digitization and interactive learning are boosting projector adoption. Features like wireless connectivity and mobile compatibility are enhancing appeal, reflecting a trend towards seamless and convenient multimedia experiences.
Commenting on the achievement, A. K. Harish, Senior General Manager – Visual Products at Epson India, stated, “We are thrilled not only to retain the No.1 position in the Indian projector market for FY2023 but also to significantly increase our market share. We have been market leaders in India for many years now. The projector market has evolved significantly, offering a more advanced user experience with seamless features. Epson has consistently been at the forefront of this transformation, delivering products that provide vibrant, true-to-life images and a viewing experience that exceeds customer expectations.”
