Exclusive Interview with Sudip De – Managing Director at Cenit Globex

Welcome to all our viewers of IT Voice Tech News. Today, we have the privilege of speaking with Mr. Sudip De, Managing Director of Cenit Globex.

Suman: Mr. Sudip, welcome, and thank you for taking the time to join us today.
Sudip De: Thank you for having me, and it’s a pleasure to share my thoughts about Cenit Globex with your audience across the nation.

Suman: Let’s begin by discussing the history and evolution of Cenit Globex. How did you start the company, and what were your initial goals and vision for its growth?
Sudip De: I began my career in the corporate world back in 1996, working with some of the most recognized brands like Cadbury, Coca-Cola, and Philip Morris. Later, I shifted to the technology sector, joining Samsung, where I was responsible for heading the corporate business. From there, I moved on to Mosab, managing their Asia-Pacific IT vertical. After that, I joined ADATA, a global leader in the memory business, where I was responsible for the Southeast Asia region.
Having spent many years working with these brands, I eventually felt the urge to venture into entrepreneurship. In 2015, I took that leap, not realizing that entrepreneurship demands time, money, energy, and is essentially a 24/7 job. Initially, we started with mobile accessories and cartridges under a different brand. However, we faced some partnership issues and market challenges, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced us to take a pause.
After COVID, I knew I couldn’t sit idle. So, with my background in selling televisions during my Samsung days, I decided to launch Cenit Globex with LED TVs as our flagship product. We have since expanded into various other products, including split air conditioners, interactive touch panels, digital signages, and corporate gifting solutions. The core philosophy behind Cenit Globex is to offer high-quality products at affordable prices, and that has been our guiding strategy.

Suman: Can you share some of the notable projects and success stories Cenit Globex has been involved in?
Sudip De: Cenit Globex has been involved in several notable projects. One of our significant projects was the installation of interactive touch panels across all Kriya Vias centers in Tamil Nadu. We’ve also supplied televisions to major clients such as Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited, NDTV, and various direct marketing companies. Additionally, we have been expanding our footprint with over 26 corporate clients.
We’ve diversified into digital signages as well, providing them to various malls and fast-food outlets like McDonald’s, KFC, and Domino’s, where they display their menus. Our interactive touch panels are also gaining traction, especially in the education sector, where we’ve partnered with government departments to modernize classrooms across cities like Bulandshahr, Chennai, Siliguri, and Allahabad.

Suman: The television industry is highly competitive, with constant technological advancements. How does Cenit Globex stay ahead of the curve in terms of innovation?
Sudip De: From the beginning, we were clear that our focus wouldn’t be on Tier 1 cities. We targeted Tier C, D, and E cities, where the demand for quality but affordable products is significant. This has been our strategy, and it’s only recently that we’ve expanded into bigger cities like Chennai, Bangalore, and Kolkata.
We’ve noticed the shift from joint families to nuclear families, where new flat owners typically require multiple TVs for their rooms and living spaces. This trend has fueled our growth in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. We’ve also tied up with builders of new constructions, offering consumer durables like TVs and air conditioners as part of their home packages.

Suman: After-sales service is crucial, especially in smaller towns. How do you ensure excellent customer service in these regions?
Sudip De: We’ve partnered with VAT Services, which allows us to provide service to over 13,000 PIN codes across India. Service is a priority for us, and I’m proud to say that in the last three and a half years, we’ve never faced a significant service issue. Our philosophy is simple: the customer should never suffer. If a TV or product can’t be repaired in a timely manner, we replace it without hesitation. A satisfied customer is our best advertisement, and word-of-mouth recommendations are invaluable.

Suman: Have you launched any standout products recently?
Sudip De: Yes, we recently launched digital signages, which are now commonly seen in malls, fast food outlets, and corporate offices. They display menus, company dossiers, and other digital content. We’ve also seen success with interactive touch panels, which have been deployed in several government education programs.
Another exciting development is that we’re entering the acoustics segment. Soon, we’ll be launching tower speakers, sound bars, and other audio products to complement our TV offerings.

Suman: What are your future plans for growth and expansion, particularly in new regions?
Sudip De: We haven’t yet fully tapped into West India. Currently, our operations are well-established in South and East India, and we have some presence in North India. However, West India is an untapped market for us, and post-Diwali, we plan to aggressively expand into this region.

Suman: What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals looking to excel in this industry?
Sudip De: Entrepreneurship is often romanticized, but people need to understand that it requires immense effort. It’s easy to look at success stories, but behind those stories are countless hours of hard work, determination, and resilience. In the television industry, for example, there’s no rocket science—what matters is delivering quality products at competitive prices and providing excellent customer service.
For aspiring entrepreneurs, my advice is to stay focused, be prepared for challenges, and never compromise on quality. Customer satisfaction is key, and there’s no better advertisement than a happy customer.

Suman: Thank you so much, Mr. Sudip, for sharing your insights with us. It’s been a pleasure hearing about the journey of Cenit Globex, and we wish you continued success.
Sudip De: Thank you, and I appreciate the opportunity to share our story. We look forward to growing Cenit Globex and continuing to deliver high-quality products to our customers.
