Google has announced the release of its Gemini app in India. Initially launched in the US in February, the app is powered by the Gemini Large Language Model (LLM). In India, the Gemini app supports English and nine local languages, all of which are compatible with Gemini Advanced.
The app can be downloaded from the Play Store, allowing users to access the AI chatbot. Additionally, the Gemini chatbot can be accessed via Google Assistant.
Users can interact with Gemini by typing, speaking, or uploading images to prompt the AI and receive responses. The app can handle large documents, providing quick summaries, actionable insights, and answers to various questions. It can also analyze spreadsheets and visualize data.
Gemini assists with drafting messages, brainstorming ideas, and planning events directly within the Messages app.
In India, the supported languages include English, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
Google assures users that their information and files will remain private and will not be used to train the AI models.
The Gemini app is currently available for Android and will soon be released for iOS through the Google app.
