Tech giant Google has announced Preeti Lobana as the new Country Manager and Vice President for India. Lobana, a seasoned Google executive, takes over the role following over eight years of contributing to the company’s customer-centric solutions.
“Having witnessed firsthand how the internet has transformed businesses, and having collaborated closely with product teams to deliver exceptional value to our customers, I’m energised by this incredible opportunity,” Lobana said in a LinkedIn post, expressing her excitement for the new role.
This leadership change follows the promotion of former Google India Country Head, Sanjay Gupta, who stepped into the position of President for the Asia-Pacific region nearly five months ago. Gupta praised Lobana’s expertise, highlighting her ability to navigate India’s unique ecosystem and leverage AI innovations, such as Gemini, to promote digital inclusion and economic growth. “Her deep market expertise will guide us in shaping a future where technology truly benefits all,” Gupta noted.
Lobana will collaborate with Roma Datta Chobey, who served as interim Country Manager and continues as Managing Director for Google India’s Digital NASince joining Google in 2016 as Director for APAC Customer Experience, Lobana has taken on various roles of increasing responsibility. She served as Senior Director of Ads Customer Care in 2019 and Vice President for Publishers, Partners, and Ads Content Teams in 2021.
Lobana’s appointment marks a new chapter for Google India, reflecting the company’s commitment to fostering innovation, expanding AI-driven solutions, and strengthening its presence in one of the world’s most dynamic digital markets.
