Google Chrome has introduced a new feature that enables Android and iOS users to receive article summaries

Google is introducing a clever AI-driven addition to Chrome for Android and iOS users. The latest enhancement to its Search Generative Experience (SGE) involves summarizing articles found during online searches.

Google’s SGE previously provided summaries for search results, condensing content to help users find information more efficiently. Now, it’s taking this capability further by offering summaries after users click on a link.

To access the feature, users can opt-in to the Search Labs program. Once enabled, users can tap an icon at the bottom of the screen to receive AI-generated “key points” from an article. It’s important to note that this functionality is only available for articles that are freely accessible to the public, excluding paywalled content.

Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, expressed optimism about user feedback and emphasized that this technology represents the future of Search.
