Google’s upcoming Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, set to be launched on October 4, are reportedly going to see price increases in the US market.
The Pixel 8 is expected to start at $699, while the Pixel 8 Pro will begin at $999, marking a $100 price hike compared to the starting prices of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.
This price increase follows Google’s $50 raise for the Pixel 7a compared to the Pixel 6a, which was justified by notable hardware upgrades in the Pixel 7a.
The specifics of the hardware upgrades for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are yet to be confirmed, but there are leaks hinting at improvements like auto-focus for the selfie camera and ultrawide sensor enhancements, as well as a new and improved Tensor G3 chip.
Notably, both models will continue to offer 128GB storage in the base configuration, while some competitors have moved to a 256GB starting point.
