Google’s Privacy Sandbox, designed to replace traditional cookies for online tracking, achieves a significant milestone

Google’s Chrome browser moves closer to eliminating third-party cookies by making its Privacy Sandbox relevance and measurement APIs generally available, with plans to expand availability to all users over the coming months.

Additionally, Chrome introduces new ad privacy controls for managing Privacy Sandbox features. While most users won’t notice a significant difference, this milestone allows developers and advertisers to assess readiness for the eventual deprecation of third-party cookies planned for the second half of next year.

Google has gathered extensive industry feedback and doesn’t anticipate major changes to the Privacy Sandbox APIs before the cookie deprecation begins.
