HP has appointed Ipsita Dasgupta as the Senior Vice President and Managing Director for its India market. Dasgupta will take up her new role starting October 30, reporting to David McQuarrie, HP’s Chief Commercial Officer. In her capacity, she will oversee HP’s strategy and profit and loss (P&L) in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
India represents a significant area of growth for HP, and the company is keen on leveraging Dasgupta’s expertise to further advance its presence in this dynamic market. She brings a wealth of experience across various industries, making her a strong candidate for this role. Prior to joining HP, Dasgupta served as the Senior Director of Marketing for Apple Services, where she was responsible for Global Synergy Marketing, External Partnership Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Market and Competitive Intelligence for Apple’s subscription services.
In response to her appointment, Dasgupta expressed her enthusiasm and honor in taking on the role of Managing Director for HP’s India market. She acknowledged the tremendous growth journey that India is currently undertaking and the exciting opportunity to lead HP’s business in this environment.
With 24 years of international operating experience, Dasgupta’s career has spanned various sectors. Before her time at Apple, she served as the President of Corporate Strategy and Incubated Business at Star India, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. She has also held the position of Chief Commercial Officer for South Asia and Greater China at General Electric Company.
In this new role, Dasgupta will be responsible for driving HP’s continued growth in the India market as the country undergoes significant digital transformation.
