The plastic bodied variant of HTC’s One (M8) flagship phone, which is rumoured to be announced in the first week of June, has allegedly made an online appearance courtesy Chinese certification agency, TENAA.
The phone featured in the images sports front-stereo speakers similar to the ones on the HTC One (M8). Just like the flagship smartphone, the phone doesn’t sport physical keys for navigation. The back of the phone looks rather plain, featuring the camera lens and an LED flash. The image also confirms that the phone will not feature a Duo Camera unlike One (M8) and the rumoured One (M8) Prime.
The image looks similar to the one shared by Twitter user EVLeaks, in April. Incidentally, EVLeaks has also posted updated information about the phone, clarifying that unlike One (M8), its plastic variant will feature a 4.7-inch display.
Previous reports suggested that the phone’s hardware specifications will be similar to One (M8) and that the phone will be priced close to 3,000 yuan (Rs 28,000 approximately). It is expected to compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S5.
To recap, HTC One (M8) sports a 5-inch IPS LCD full-HD display (1080 x 1920p, 441ppi) with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and 2GB RAM. The phone is available in 16GB and 32GB internal storage variants with a microSD card slot that supports cards of up to 128GB capacity. The smartphone runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the latest iteration of the mobile OS with HTC’s Sense 6.0 UI on top.
