Huawei Ascend Y600 with 5-inch display, 3G support listed on company’s site

Huawei has expanded its mid-range Ascend smartphone series with the introduction of the Ascend Y600. The Huawei Ascend Y600 is now listed on the company’s website without pricing, and there is no word on the availability of the smartphone as well.

The Huawei Ascend Y600 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box, with the company’s Emotion UI on top. It offers dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) support and features a 5-inch IPS display with FWVGA (480×854 pixels) resolution.

A dual-core MediaTek (MT6572) processor powers the smartphone, clocked at 1.3GHz, coupled with 512MB of RAM. The Ascend Y600 sports a 5-megapixel rear camera, while there is a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard.

The Ascend Y600 comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, and can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, and 3G connectivity options. The Huawei Ascend Y600 is backed by a 2100mAh battery.

The Huawei Ascend Y600 will join the company’s budget Ascend Y series, which includes the Ascend Y530, Y511, Ascend Y320, Ascend Y300, and Ascend Y200.

Earlier, Huawei launched three new devices – Ascend G6 smartphone as well as tablets MediaPad M1 and MediaPad X1 – at MWC 2014 in Barcelona.

The popular Chinese handset maker launched the Ascend Y530 in February. The Huawei Ascend Y530 runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with company’s Emotion UI on top. It features a 4.5-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 480×854 pixels. The smartphone is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor alongside 512MB of RAM.

Prior to this, Huawei expanded its Ascend smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the Ascend G610, Ascend G700, Ascend Y320 and Ascend Y511 in India.
