ITVoice News: At the pre-IFA 2014 event, Huawei launched a new phablet called Ascend Mate 7. The company said that the phablet will be released in 30 markets during this quarter including in countries like China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Spain and the UK.
The phablet has two variants – the 16GB variant will be available at Rs 39,000 while the 32GB version is priced at Rs 47,000. The new launch from Huawei has a fingerprint scanner at the back which is similar to HTC One Max. It can support up to five sets of different fingerprints in regular as well as guest modes. The Ascend Mate 7 is single-SIM and it runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with EMUI 3.0 skinned on top. It features 15.24-cm (6-inch) full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display which comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The new device also features an octa-core (1.8GHz A15 + 1.3GHz A7) Kirin 925 SoC with Mali T628 GPU. The 16GB variant comes with 2GB RAM and the 32GB one will come with 3GB RAM. The phablet is also packed with a 13MP (f/2.0) camera with Sony’s fourth-generation BSI sensor and LED flash and a 5MP front-camera.
Ascend Mate 7’s connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, 3G and 4G LTE Cat 6 and it will be available in three colour variants – Obsidian black, Moonlight silver and Amber gold.
