India’s Ascent in the Domestic Chip Ecosystem: Aman Gupta

Aman Gupta , Consumer electronics brand boAt’s Co-founder, while referring to India’s semiconductor ecosystem, said, “They say Rome wasn’t built in a day and I say India won’t make in a day.” The successful entrepreneur and businessman who also is a Shark on the famous Shark Tank India addressed the press and audiences gathered at the Semicon India 2023 event. Aman believed in the conscious efforts of Indian semiconductor industry stalwarts and the central government who is leading the change for the technology future.

Aman also tweeted about the same , he used the effective reference of Maruti Suzuki, a prominent Automobile manufacturer in India who became successful after years of experimentation and practice in understanding of the target consumers. Along with the combination of components manufacturers Suzuki grew in size and stature with consistent efforts adding value to their products and services. Aman thanked the opportunity to address at Semicon India in Gandhinagar, and highlighted the importance on giving back when such an ecosystem is developed through his brand.

Furthermore, building a highly skilled workforce capable of handling advanced semiconductor technologies stays another critical challenge. Gupta initiated various educational programs and partnerships with academic institutions to nurture talent and create a pool of skilled professionals.

Startups will also play a pivotal role in creating a range of System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions tailored for various applications, including IoT devices, automotive systems, and consumer electronics. These indigenous SoCs not only reduce India’s dependence on imports but also opened up new avenues for local innovation. As India’s domestic chip ecosystem continues to evolve, Aman Gupta believes that sustained investments in research and development, collaborations with global semiconductor players, and government support will be vital to ensure long-term success. The Indian government’s initiatives, such as the National Policy on Electronics, have provided the necessary impetus for the growth of the semiconductor industry.
