Instagram has rolled out Tweet-like Notes, and a BeReal clone – Candid Stories, along with Group Profiles

Instagram, a well-known social media site, has unveiled a number of new features for Android users. The parent company of Instagram, Meta, announced the addition of Notes, Candid Stories, and Group Profiles in a public blog post, providing users more options to engage with their friends and family in a variety of ways.

A new way to express yourself on Instagram is through the “Notes” feature. Users have the option of sharing anything they wish via text (up to 60 characters) and emojis. You need to go to your inbox, choose any of your followers or close friends, then share it in order to use the Instagram Notes feature.

Just like Stories, Notes are also shown on top of your inbox and are viewable for 24 hours. Responses from viewers will show up in DMs.

‘Candid Stories’ is a different feature that is intriguing. This feature will prompt users to take a picture of what they are doing right now while it is still under testing. Only those who additionally share their own Candid Stories will be able to see the candid photos. You can disable this feature under Settings if you don’t like it. Candid Stories will soon be released on Facebook, according to Meta.

Instagram also offers “Group Profiles,” where users may sign up and share posts and stories with their pals. Only the group will have access to this group’s content; your followers will not. By touching the plus (+) sign and choosing Group Profiles, you may make a new Group Profile.

Additionally, Instagram is also testing a feature called “Collaborative Collections” that would let users interact with friends “over their common interests by saving posts to a collaborative collection in your group or 1:1 DMs.” While some features are currently being tested, others have already gone live.
